Berthold Koletzko is Professor of Pediatrics at Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich, Germany, and heads the Division of Metabolic & Nutritional Medicine at Dr. von Hauner Children’s Hospital, University of Munich Medical Center. Professor Koletzko has co-authored more than 800 journal articles (Times Cited 15 750, H-index 63), 202 book chapters, and 34 books/monographies. His research is funded by the European Commission, the European Research Council, the German Research Council, and other public funding bodies.

 

He serves as President for the European Society Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology & Nutrition (espghan.org), Co-coordinator of the EU FP7 Early Nutrition Project (project-earlynutrition.eu), Managing Director of the Early Nutrition Academy (www.early-nutrition.org), Chair of the Committee on Nutrition, German Society Pediatrics (dgkj.de), Chair of the Scientific Board of the German Government-supported Network Young Families, Member of the German National Breastfeeding Committee, and Member of the Councils of United European Gastroenterology (ueg.eu), European Pediatric Association (epa-unepsa.org), the International Society for Developmental Origins of Health and Disease (dohadsoc.org), the International Society for the Study of Lipids and Fatty Acids (issfal.org), and the International Society for Research in Human Milk and Lactation (isrhml.net/). He is Editor-in-Chief of Annals Nutrition & Metabolism and of World Review of Nutrition and Dietetics, and Associate Editor of Current Opinion in Clinical Nutrition & Metabolic Care and of Monatsschrift Kinderheilkunde.

 

He has served as Scientific Advisor to the German Federal Government, the Innovation Initiative of the Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany, the European Commission, the European Parliament, the World Health Organization, and several other national and international organizations and governmental bodies.
